Pre-Conception Consultations

Pre-Conception Consultations at Kwezi are designed to support individuals and couples in preparing for a healthy and informed pregnancy journey. This service is ideal for couples planning to conceive as well as single mothers who are looking to get pregnant. During the consultation, we review your medical history and blood tests, check for mineral deficiencies, assess the presence of any non-communicable diseases (such as high blood pressure or diabetes), and provide personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance.

We also cover topics like cycle tracking and overall health assessments to optimize fertility and well-being. This consultation offers valuable insight into your body's readiness for pregnancy and helps you take proactive steps toward a smooth and empowered experience. Consultations are available in-person or virtually, depending on your preference, and typically last for an hour .

Pre-Natal Consultations

Prenatal Consultations at Kwezi are dedicated follow-up sessions designed to guide and support you throughout your pregnancy journey. From the moment your pregnancy test is positive, we offer in-person or virtual appointments every 4 to 6 weeks, ensuring close and compassionate monitoring of your well-being. Each session includes a full check-in with your midwife: we review the trimester you're in, monitor your mental health, check your blood pressure, listen to the baby's heartbeat, measure weight, and conduct urine tests.

What sets our care apart is our deep focus on the parent whether you're partnered or on your own. We prioritize your voice, your emotions, and your overall health. Our consultations also cover important topics such as birth planning, nutrition, fetal development, and emotional support. We warmly encourage your partner or support person to attend, so you never walk this journey alone.

Pre-Natal Classes

At Kwezi, we offer a series of eight prenatal education classes designed to prepare you emotionally, mentally, and physically for childbirth and parenthood. These classes cover a wide range of essential topics including childbirth preparation, pain relief techniques, understanding labor, hospital readiness, breathing and pushing techniques, postpartum care, breastfeeding, baby care, and even parental organization and sexuality after birth and are a total of eight classes . Each class lasts one hour and can be attended individually with your partner or in a small group setting, depending on your preference. Classes are facilitated by a qualified midwife with deep experience in both clinical and holistic prenatal care.

To ensure the sessions are relevant to your personal journey, we recommend at least three prenatal consultations before beginning the classes, so we can tailor the content to your history and needs. For parents with limited time, we also offer “Kwezi Bite” a condensed 3-hour session that covers the essentials of all eight classes in one comprehensive and engaging experience. Your partner or support person is always encouraged to attend, and we create a warm, respectful space where your questions, concerns, and expectations are heard and supported every step of the way.

Post-Partum Support

At Kwezi, our postpartum care is designed to support you in the deeply transformative period following childbirth. This service begins within the first few days after birth, a critical time when your body is healing, emotions are fluctuating, and you're adjusting to life with a newborn. Our qualified midwives offer home visits or virtual consultations, depending on your needs, to ensure personalized, compassionate care. We provide comprehensive support including monitoring your physical recovery (checking perineal sutures or C-section scars), assessing breastfeeding and helping establish it confidently, tracking your baby's growth and nutrition, and offering emotional support to help you navigate postpartum feelings, anxiety, or mood changes.

We also assist with infant care, from newborn bathing and sleep routines to helping you understand feeding cues as well as monitor the baby's adjustment at home, ensuring they he is gaining weight properly and checking for any signs of jaundice that may develop. You'll receive three postpartum visits, but more can be arranged if you need continued care. Our approach is holistic; we work alongside lactation consultants, pediatricians, or mental health professionals when necessary, ensuring you and your baby are fully supported in this beautiful and delicate time.
